5 Days in Melbourne

After a week in Brisbane, we decided to hop on a plane and go further south to stay in Melbourne for 5 days.

First of all: Melbourne is way colder than expected! It’s a bit likeĀ Austrian summer with chill nights and hot dry days - so nothing new to me and I honestly prefer the subtropical climate of Queensland - The Sunshine State :)

Absolute highlight of Melbourne was the Crown Complex, which is an amazingly large place with all kinds of bars, clubs, food courts, 5 star hotel and even a casino. So if you ever have the chance to visit Melbourne, you should definitely check that out.

Apart from that, we did a little sightseeing, wandered around in CBD for I don’t know how many hours and I got a good bunch of work done at our apartment.

I’m really enjoying the mix between vacation by day and work by night. Inspiration is literally everywhere when traveling a foreign country - so that really gets the creative juices flowing when it comes to get some work done after a long sightseeing day :) .. I’ll try to put a few new things on dribbble as soon as I get the permission from my clients, so stay tuned.

The only real problem so far is getting decent wifi in our apartments - either it’s really really slow or has a ridiculous data limit. I really thought it would be easier, but in the end I just bought a microsim card for my iPad so I don’t have to solely rely on the apartments hardware (which is unfortunately not as good as promised in the advert). It’s not perfect that way, especially because I have to send huge PSD files to developers, but it’s better than nothing :)

Right now I’m sitting in my apartment in Surfers Paradise and we’re heading back to Brisbane tomorrow. So stay tuned for a post about Surfers in the coming days.

I also attached a few impressions of Melbourne at the bottom of the post - enjoy!

cheers,
PatrikĀ
